Tea is not only a drink, it is also a significant part of my life. I have had green tea for the past six years and I love it. After having tried many other teas, I can say that this one is number 1 in my book. It tastes great and it gives me the feeling that I have a tonic in my body after drinking it. That’s really amazing because tea has some healthy effects on our body. By drinking tea we can increase our metabolism, clean our liver and kidneys and keep us fit and healthy.

Green tea is really good for you because it has antioxidants in it which protect cells from free radicals and prevent aging of cells. It contains antioxidants like catechins, epigallocatechin gallate which helps in the production of neurotransmitters which leads to relaxation and promotes mental health and memory retention.

It is also a great drink for people who are gluten intolerant because it is made from green tea. It is a great drink for those who want to lose weight because it helps burn fat and it has been found that green tea can help burn calories. It also helps reduce heart diseases because it can lower the risk of cancer in our body.

I personally find green tea very delicious and enjoyable because I have a coffee addiction just like many people and I find that mixing my coffee with green tea gives me a smooth flavor. But you don’t have to drink coffee to get the benefits of green tea or any other tea. You can make it at home with a little work and some simple tools.

This post is going to help you how to brew green tea at home so that you can enjoy the benefits of the tea at home. I have already made my own homemade green tea but I would love to know what you think about it and if you like it.

Green Tea Benefits:

It helps reduce your risk of cancers like breast and prostate cancer

It helps in weight loss because it can burn fat rapidly. Green tea contains catechins which are antioxidants and help in blocking the absorption of fat in our body.

It helps reduce the risk of heart diseases because it lowers cholesterol and blood pressure. It has been found that green tea can prevent cancer cell from multiplying.

It is a great drink for people who are gluten intolerant as it is made from green tea and caffeine free. It is also good for diabetics as well because it has been proven to lower the blood sugar levels.

I am going to show you how to make your own tea from scratch. You will learn how to make green tea at home so that you can enjoy the benefits of this tea anywhere and any time. I am not going to show you how to make a cup of green tea but I will show you how to make green tea for making drinks.

Step 1: You will need the following tools:

A tea bag or a piece of loose-leaf tea

A strainer, a cheesecloth or any other kitchen strainer for making the tea. I used a fine mesh stainless steel tea strainer.

A brewing kettle or pot that can hold at least 6 cups of water for steeping the tea. You can use a pot with infuser, but please note that you should not use metal pot in your home because it can affect your health adversely and is not advisable to use at home. A ceramic pot is very suitable for you.

Step 2: Fill the kettle or pot with water and pour it in the tea bag or loose-leaf tea.

You need to do this to prevent the tea from getting bitter. If you want to make a cup of tea, just pour the water into the teapot and it will be ready in no time.

Step 3: Turn on the stove and bring the kettle to boil.

Once it is boiling, turn off the heat and add 3-4 teaspoons of green tea for every cup of hot water that you are going to use for making your green tea. I used 6 cups of water for making one cup of green tea so I added 3-4 teaspoons of green tea for each cup of water. It’s better if you use 2 bags or loose leafs at a time so that you can mix the tea leaves well.

Step 4: Let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes.

Stir the tea once in a while so that it doesn’t stick on your strainer and you will have to filter it out. The longer you let the green tea sit, the stronger it will be and the more flavor you will get from it. You can taste the green tea and see how strong or weak it is before you make a cup of green tea at home, just to know which one suits you best.

Step 5: Strain out the leaves from your green tea with a strainer or cheesecloth and pour it into your cup or mug.

Now this is where you get to enjoy your tea.

I hope you enjoy your cup of green tea and share your opinion about it with me. In the end I would like to thank you for reading my post on How To Brew Green Tea and if you have any question or feedback please let me know in the comments below.
